A free show planned by LA’s System of A Down in downtown Hollywood Sunday night was cancelled after police feared safety concerns. The crowd responded by destroying not only the band’s equipment, but anything else in their path.
Police and the fire department determined the crowd of 7,000 was too large and unruly to proceed with the show. After fans rushed the stage, they called things off.
Fans though were not told of the cancellation and the police wouldn’t let the band come onstage to announce the cancellation. In fact, other than police telling fans there would be no concert by walking through the audience, no announcement was made.
