Jim Abbott of the Orlando Sentinel reviewed the Pearl Jam show at House of Blues at Downtown Disney West Side. Abbott writes, “Vedder and his bandmates rose to the occasion with a show that blended plenty of songs from Riot Act with an overview of old favorites. The set might have been a bit light on hits, considering that the band never got around to ‘Jeremy,’ ‘Black’ or ‘Daughter’.” He added, “The crowd cheered wildly when a verse alluded to ‘freedom of speech,’ an idea that has gotten Vedder and the Dixie Chicks into media controversy lately. But ultimately, this night wasn’t about making a statement. It was about reveling in the talent of a band that doesn’t need pyrotechnics to light a spark.” Orlandosentinel.com has since removed the article.
