Papa Roach Looks At Tragedy

Martinez of the El Paso Times chatted with the guys from Papa Roach, including guitarist Tobin Esperance, who explained how the continuous grind of touring the previous nine years and the newfound popularity of the band during the Ozzfest the same summer created a pressure from within Papa Roach that they never felt before. “There really wasn’t much for us to do at Ozzfest during the day,” Esperance explained. “Drinking and smoking weed was beginning to get old, so I started putting my time to good use by getting ideas for the next record down on tape.” What resulted was ‘Lovehatetragedy’, the band’s latest release.
