Time.com profiled the surge in popularity that Omaha, Nebraska is getting for producing cutting-edge rock. Amongst those mentioned for starting the buzz is Faint and Conor Oberst. Both groups have spurned offers from major labels to stick with Saddle Creek, the tiny Omaha label that nurtured them. That may change though as Oberst admits, “We’d like to keep Saddle Creek going. At the same time, financial security is hard to pass up.” Time.com has since removed the article.
