Jayson Whitehead of Las Vegas Weekly spoke with Hot Hot Heat lead singer Steve Bays who revealed the band has only been able to write a couple songs since the release of the October 2002 release of ‘Make up the Breakdown’. “Normally, I like to record stuff at home and do demos and work on things like that,” Bays said. “This way you need to keep an idea in your head. We have a ton of ideas going on and we have some new songs. When we were at home before we would jam like five days a week, and be writing a song or two a week.”
