No Doubt Created ‘Rock Steady’ On The Spot

Regis Behe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review spoke with No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont on the ease of recording their latest album ‘Rock Steady’. “Instead of the old process – the way we used to do things was sort of long-winded – we would just create things on the spot, recording them right then,” he says. “In a lot of cases, because of advances in recording technology, a lot of those demos wound up as actual parts of the album. It was very spontaneous. We didn’t spend nearly so much time rehearsing things. It felt a lot fresher that way.” Read more.
