Raised Fist bassist Andre ‘Josse’ Johansson spoke with Time Off magazine about the band’s lengthy four year gap between their third album ‘Dedication’, released in 2002, and their new effort, ‘Sound of the Republic’. “Nothing’s held it up really,” Johansson explained. “We didn’t feel like doing anything at that point. We just didn’t have the dedication for a release back then. I guess it was just some sort of natural break. We decided a couple of months before recording that we were going to write some new songs. And we wrote them all in the period right before the actual recording. Some of us had written a couple of songs or a couple of riffs or something. But we really hadn’t worked on it.” The article at timeoff.com.au has since been removed.
