Nickelback chatted with France’s Europe 2 recently. Frontman Chad Kroeger says the new album ‘The Long Road’ is a mix of more melodic and more aggressive tracks from their ‘Silver Side Up’ debut. Chad says the new album is less about his life and more about life in general, and he hopes the world can identify with it. As for his ‘Hero’ solo departure, he says he has no interest in going solo and doesn’t feel held back by the group, adding that Nickelback will be his focus going forward. Chad also talked about the strange relationship working with his brother and the band’s bassist Mike, which he says holds the band together tighter. They talked about being fans of Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’ and Linkin Park, which Chad says is a “hard working band” as well as fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne.
