Mike Patton More Consistent Than David Yow

Jeff Niesel of the Cleveland Free Times spoke with Tomahawk’s Duane Denison, formerly of Jesus Lizard, on being with the new band and having new frontman of Faith No More fame. Denison admits things are a lot different with Patton as opposed to Jesus Lizard frontman David Yow. “For one thing, he can sing when he wants to,” Denison says. “I’m not dissing Yow. Mike [Patton] can do melodic things more consistently, especially live. Yow’s a great frontman, and he had a unique vocal style as well. But there were things he wasn’t so good at, and he would be the first to admit it. This band frees me up and I can write a wider variety of stuff.” Freetimes.com has since removed the article.
