Metallica Rules At Headbanger Marathon

Jim Farber of the New York Daily News reviewed the Summer Sanitarium tour stop at Giants Stadium on Tuesday, saying that the headliner “inspires enough awe, and has enough talent, to leave every other act on the bill looking like a bar band from Schenectady.” He added that the opening acts, Limp Bizkit, the , and Linkin Park, “all seemed cowed by the headliner, and earned their loudest ovations when they covered Metallica’s songs or invoked its name. That’s as it should be. Metallica’s 90-minute performance proved that it is the most creative still-functioning metal band on the planet.”
