Metallica Play Surprise Show In San Francisco

Rolling Stone reports played a surprise show at Kimo’s, a small club in their hometown of San Francisco last night, much to the obvious delight of all 150 patrons. Producer Bob Rock played bass for the performance, filling in for the departed Jason Newsted. Rock actually called the owner of the club to take advantage of the club’s $75 pay to play deal, and even after the show, the owner didn’t seem to know who the band was.
