Maynard James Keenan: Wine Aficionado

A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan spoke with Murray Engleheart and revealed he’s quite the admirer of good wine and had the chance to indulge in some serious purchasing while the group were in Lisbon. For Keenan it was a touring highlight to equal any performance. “Lisbon is known as the port capital and it’s very difficult to hold back on your spending when you find something you haven’t seen before and might not see again,” he explained. “You occasionally see a 20 year old port but rarely a 30 year old port and the difference between a 20 year old port and a 30 year old port is enormous. I used to think that it was all pretty much the same but there’s actually so much to it, how they’re aged and what they’re aged in. It’s quite amazing.”
