Jim Farber of the New York Daily News checked out the Coldplay show at Jones Beach on Thursday. Farber said, “The band’s music is made for swaying, not dancing. And Coldplay does suffer from a certain sameness — it hasn’t progressed much from album one to two. But here, it was able to give most of its slow beats grace. In songs such as ‘Trouble’ and ‘Spies,’ guitarist Jon Buckland displayed a fine and aching array of pings and flickers. Yet it’s Martin’s vocals that give the band’s sweetness its soul.” The full article at nydailynews.com has since been removed or relocated.
