Marilyn Manson Visits Radio 1

visited Radio 1’s Jo Whiley on Wednesday (September 22), discuss his new ‘best of’ album – ‘Lest We Forget’, his friendship with Sharon Osbourne, reality TV, Michael Moore and Depeche Mode. Manson said of reality television and its negative influence on music: “It’s a very fine line between being a chef and a waiter, and as an artist if you start catering to what people want or you let people decide what they want it can really compromise the integrity of everything as a whole. Music is in such a bad spot now because of things like that. We’re very focused on watching other people’s lives instead of living our own and it’s kind of sad.” Audio at bbc.co.uk/radio1 has since been removed.
