Mainstream Acceptance Has Surprised Marilyn Manson
The early buzz for ‘The Golden Age of Grotesque’ and its building mainstream acceptance has surprised Marilyn Manson. “We’re really surprised that people are hearing it as being so accessible. We were just doing things that we as fans of music enjoy hearing,” Manson told Tina Potterf of the Seattle Times. “To see that it has gotten more of mainstream approval doesn’t matter as much when you are playing to your audience. It kind of confirms that my depraved imagination, my personality is something that a lot of the world can identify with because they see themselves in it.”
