Less Than Jake’s Roth Explains Gainesville Music Scene
Cris of music4autobahns.com spoke with Chris Roth from Less Than Jake about how the music scene in their stomping grounds of Gainesville, Florida has blown up. Roth said, “Well, basically it’s just a college town, so it’s one of those places where, you know, every four months there’s new people coming in to go to school. It’s like a transient town; there’s always an influx of people coming into the town. There’s No Idea records that’s been there since ’85, Fueled By Ramen’s (LTJ drummer Vinnie’s label) been going for five or six years now, and, you know, there’s a bunch of different little punk clubs to play. It’s a good thing. Gainesville’s always kinda been that way.” Music4autobahns.com has since shut down.
