‘Last Broacast’ Is Very Dense

Steve Morse of the Boston Globe chatted with Doves singer Jimi Goodwin about the band’s latest CD ‘Last Broadcast’, an album of simple melodies but majestic grandeur. ”The whole album is very dense. There’s so much going on,” Goodwin says. ”But hopefully, it doesn’t push you away, and is not so complex that it freaks you out. You’re still invited in. We’re perfectionists in the studio, but we know when to pull back. Because there are three of us, and we all produce and write, when one of us is getting a bit too involved, the others will pull him back and say, ‘I think that bit is done.'”
