Lack Of Choices On Rock Radio Needs To Be Corrected

Sydney Morning Herald spoke with Steven Van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and host of ‘Little Steven’s Underground Garage’, which thanks to bands like the Hives and The Strokes has grown from 23 stations in April to 56 currently. “The choices we have been left with in the mainstream are heavy metal, rap and pop,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with that. But the lack of choices, the lack of opportunity for the young generation to be turned on to all these other cool things, that needs to be corrected. That’s just not right.” Read more.
