Kroeger Defends Theory Of A Deadman Similarities

Chart magazine reports that in addition to their own Juno for the Songwriter Of The Year Award, Nickelback were celebrating the Best New Artist: Group award which was picked up by Theory Of A Deadman, who are signed to frontman Chad Kroeger’s 604 record label. As for talk that Theory sounded like Nickelback, Kroeger said, “No, I don’t think anyone’s copying my style. I’ve worked with a couple of bands that are rock bands and we’re a rock band. Yes, I sound similar to [Theory singer] Tyler and yes, I’m involved with other rock bands that sound a little less like us than Theory Of A Deadman. But I don’t think there’s any mystery as to why I’d want to work with bands like that because we all came from the same thing.”
