Kirk Hammett Denies Dave Ellefson Is Joining Metallica

CDNow.com reports Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has denied to Metallica fans in a members-only chat that former Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson would be tipped to replace Jason Newsted, who quit the group last year. That no doubt comes as good news to Dave Mustaine, who was axed from Metallica in 1983 due to his alleged substance abuse, causing a fued between him and the group ever since.
