Kid Rock Quits Smoking

At 33, Kid Rock has finally decided to quit smoking. It’s been one week and counting for the Detroit rocker, who crushed his last pack of smokes on St. Patrick’s Day. He’s on a regimen of magnesium and vitamin C and last week got state-of-the-art laser treatment intended to kill nicotine cravings.
Many believe Rock’s decision to quit smoking was down to voice problems he’s been having on tour recently. In Memphis last month, Rock’s voice got so bad that country pal Hank Williams Jr had to finish the show for him. However, Kid Rock says that his main inspiration for quitting smoking is Rolling Stones vet Keith Richards, who hung out with Rock at last week’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York. (Rock presented inductee Bob Seger.) “One thing that’ll make you quit smoking is sitting across from Keith Richards all night,” says Rock. “I don’t mind being ugly, but I sure don’t want to look like that.”
