Kid Rock Defends Everyone’s Right To Party

Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune reviewed ’s performance to a nearly full house Friday (March 12) at Allstate Arena. Kot writes, “He’s the people’s rock ‘n’ roller, the Kid would have us believe, and he’s updated his ’70s rock populism with more than a touch of rap’s swaggering rhymes and larger-than-life sense of identity.” He added, “Beneath the pimp poses, Rock strove to show he has a sensitive side, as evidenced by the appearance of a white baby grand piano. He invested the ballads ‘Cold and Empty’ and ‘Only God Knows Why’ with a road-weary pathos borrowed from Seger’s ‘Turn the Page’.” has since removed the article.
