Kele Okereke Aims For An Organic ‘Intimacy’ Follow-Up

Kele Okereke spoke with ITN about ’s growing success, releasing single tracks, and the direction of the next album before heading out on to Reading Festival’s main stage over the weekend. “I have no idea what the next record will sound like,” Kele said. “A lot of sounds that are resonating with me right at the moment are kind of more organic warmer sounds. The last record was really synthetic in places and that was what we wanted, but this is how it works. You kind of veer between extremes. I wanted to make people really harsh synthetic multi track record, and we did with ‘Intimacy’ and now it feels like it’s time to get back to the sound of guitars, the sound of strings.” Watch the comments below.
