Juliette Lewis talks to NME about the demise of The Licks and the evolution of The New Romantiques at SXSW 2009 in Austin. “The thing with The Licks was that I was always trying to keep it on the road,” she said. “Making records was secondary, so even the records we made, they were okay, but they were always better as a live band. So this is the first time I wanted to really take my time, and the only thing is the music has to be fueled by crazy passion and inspiration.
