John Cester’s Death Was Grounding For Jet

brothers Chris and Nic Cester dealed with the death of their father John, who was struck with throat cancer in 2004 aged just 45. “He was our biggest fan,” drummer Chris told The Sun’s Something For The Week. “He was the man who made us dig deep. He was very charismatic and loved life more than anyone I know. To lose him was a significant tragedy. His death was grounding for all of us. We didn’t just come back down to earth, we hit it with a bang. It took a while for us to really get over it but when we did we realized there was no time for messing around anymore. When someone dies it reminds you of your own mortality. It was a lesson we learned the hard way.” The full story at thesun.co.uk has since been archived.
