Jay Reatard Dead

Jay Reatard (Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr.) was found dead in his Memphis home this morning, which his former label Goner Records confirmed this afternoon. “It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our good friend Jay Reatard,” a message on the label’s official site said. “Jay died in his sleep last night. We will pass along information about funeral arrangements when they are made public.” Lindsey was 29.

Alicja Trout, a friend and former bandmate told The Commercial Appeal: “Yeah, it’s true. I don’t know much about it yet, because I haven’t been able to get in touch with the police.”
