‘Strays’ marks the first studio album for Jane’s Addiction since 1990 and only the fourth set of all-original material in the influential modern-rock quartet’s career. Frontman Perry Farrell tells Gary Graff of the Cleveland Plain Dealer it’s a valuable lesson in never saying never – and in never counting Jane’s Addiction out. “Some people are saying it’s our best work” says Farrell, who also founded the Lollapalooza festival that resumed this summer after a six-year break. “I will reserve my opinion, but I can tell you that we as a group have never been so focused. The players I’m working with are amazing players; if you focus them, you’re going to come up with something incredible, and there’s definitely moments on [‘Strays’] that people have been waiting for.”
