Jack White’s New ‘Cold Mountain’ Material

The White Stripes frontman Jack White has contribute five tracks to the upcoming ‘Cold Mountain’ film soundtrack, including two new songs ‘Never Far Away’ and ‘Christmas Time Will Soon Be Over’. Jack also has a small role in the civil-war film as a wandering singer and musician. “They were looking for someone to play this role of this character named George who was a civil war deserter, on the confederate side and a musician,” Jack White told MuchMusic. “So they wanted someone to bring folk music sort of to the film and sing in the film. So I was in love with that! I couldn’t believe something like that existed, let alone that I was a possibility for it.”
