Fashion experts are apparently unimpressed with the new look of the guys from The Strokes. Tom Sykes of The New York Post spoke with several fashion gurus including Stefano Tonchi, fashion director of Esquire magazine, who said, “They’re trying too hard and it shows. Before, they were themselves and that had a certain look. Now, it looks very artificial.” Amy Larocca, style maven and contributing editor for New York Magazine, thinks that since every guy below 14th St. and under age 25 copied the Strokes’ look, the band was forced to abandon it.
