While talking to journalists isn’t high on his list of priorities, Interpol bassist Carlos D is aware of the importance the media play in his band’s success. “They’re the vehicle by which your group becomes released to the world, and that’s kinda why you’re in it in the first place,” he reasoned to Nick Coppack of Time Off magazine. “So unless you just want to stay in your mother’s basement for the rest of your life, just hammering away make-believe albums that only your friends listen to, you’re gonna need the press.”
