Idlewild Debunks ‘Breaking America’ Myth
Idlewild vocalist Roddy Woomble tells Las Vegas Weekly he doesn’t see the band’s tour of the U.S. as a calculated effort to “break America”. He tells Paul Rogers, “I don’t think [breaking America] really exists as a thing anymore, y’know? I think it’s been over-talked so much. It’s always called an ‘invasion’ or something stupid like that. There seems to be no way you can just come and play here. It always has to be a ‘challenge’ in the eyes of someone. For me, it’s just reassuring that people are interested in our music… I don’t necessarily make a preference for places: Wherever I am is where I am, y’know?”
