Godsmack frontman Sully Erna points to the band’s ‘I Stand Alone’ contribution to ‘The Scorpion King’ soundtrack as a hint of what’s to come on their next album tentatively titled ‘Faceless’, due out in March. “It’s heavy in a Godsmack way — it’s punchy, it’s got a lot of grooves, but it’s a little more melodic than the older stuff,” he explains. “The band, melody-wise, has grown. There’s more harmonies in it, but it’s still got a good tough edge to it. There’s stuff that’s raw and it just goes for it. There are good melodies to it, but it’s not very commercial sounding. I’m really happy with the way the stuff is going.”
