Hot Hot Heat Not Hot On Small Market Radio
Despite the Hot Hot Heat’s popularity in bigger radio markets, getting the rest of the country’s rock and pop stations aboard hasn’t happened as quickly. “Our radio people at the label are saying we’re a hard band to work,” singer/keyboardist Steve Bays tells the Las Vegas Mercury. “There are a lot of stations in the Midwest and the South that won’t add bands like us–they’re still into nu-metal and playing it safe. There isn’t a scene of bands like us. There’s not a built-in community to sell it to. It’s been a hard record to tour, and the fact it’s picking up finally is a surprise.” Read more.
