Gus Van Sant Discusses ‘Last Days’
Courtney Love hasn’t seen Gus Van Sant’s film ‘Last Days, loosely “inspired by” the final hours of Kurt Cobain’s life, “but she pretty much knows what it is,” Van Sant tells The New York Daily News. “I think it’s a little hard for her. If someone made a film about River Phoenix’s last two days, I probably wouldn’t rush out to see it, either.” Phoenix, star of Van Sant’s ‘My Own Private Idaho’, died suddenly from drug-induced heart failure in 1993.
