Guano Apes have been forced to cancel their UK tour after frontwoman Sandra Nasic was taken ill during the band’s tour opener in Sheffield. The group posted the following message on their official website: “Hi folks, on this tour, bad luck seems to follow. First we had to put off the dates for our last month’s gigs in Holland because Sandra had a bad flu she now fell ill again.
“During our first tour gig in Sheffield/UK, Sandra had an omphalocele. She could finish the show but afterwards had to get to the hospital immediately. The next day she had to fly back to Germany for further examination.
“That’s why we had to cancel the upcoming gigs in the UK. We’re not yet sure, if we can play these shows later and the Holland gigs are still in ‘Stand-By’-Mode.
“As soon as we have more information concerning Sandra’s health, we’ll inform you on our website. Infos about our next shows are soon to come.”
