Green Day Reacquaints Itself With MTV Crowd
Ricardo Baca of the Denver Post reviewed Saturday’s Pop Disaster stop at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Denver. Baca said, “Throughout the evening, the difference between Green Day and Blink-182 was made obvious, but never was it more evident than when Armstrong, in midset, jumped into an awkwardly choreographed backspin. Green Day was reaching for a carnival-like environment, what with the audience participation, the horn-toting man dressed as a bumblebee and the massacre of the ‘Little-bit-louder-now’ section of ‘Shout,’ but instead the band’s set came across as a circus of non sequiturs, three rings of an aging band trying to reacquaint itself with those who want their MTV.” Denverpost.com has since removed the article.
