Gary Graff of the Cleveland Plain Dealer spoke with Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt on the band’s new collection of album outtakes and B-sides which is being packaged as ‘Shenanigans’. He admits the disk is a sort of closet-cleaning for the group that just released ‘International Superhits!’ last year. Still, they do plan on more new music with a new album out early 2003. “We just like to stay productive,” he says. “We’re tromping new ground already at band practice. I think it’s energetic, definitely a lot more driving; we’re not running back to our roots, and we’re not running away from where we’ve gotten to. I think we’re forging new ground.” Cleveland.com has since removed the article.
