Good Charlotte Not Pressured To Repeat Success

Having scored a smash with their album ‘The Young And The Hopeless’, guitarist Billy Martin tells Australia’s Time Off magazine that their was surprisingly little pressure to follow its success on ‘The Chronicles Of Life And Death’. “There should have been pressure, but for some reason I don’t think any of us felt it. We read the press about us, but we learned to stop caring because the only people that matter are us and the kids. There was pressure from the record label when they first heard the songs on the new album. They were like, ‘Wow, this is where you guys want to go? We weren’t expecting this. We don’t know how to market something like this’. But if we made the same record as last time, we just wouldn’t be happy. So we just followed our hearts.”
