Genetic Disease Hangs Over Hawkins Brothers

As The Darkness singer Justin Hawkins prepares to headline the Reading Festival tonight and the Leeds Festival tomorrow, as part of the Carling Weekender, Justin and his brother Dan revealed to The Glasgow Daily Record that it could be only a matter of time before they are hit with the health time bomb of arthritis. “It’s genetic so I suppose my fingers could seize up. It wouldn’t be a strong look – a catsuit and a wheelchair,” Justin said. “I also have friends with rheumatoid arthritis and it’s a crippling, degenerative condition and a real pain in the ass. But the threat of the disease, or discovering I had it, won’t stop me and won’t keep me down.”
