Funeral For A Friend went home with the Best Breakthrough statue at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in London on Monday night (June 7), which they were obviously very impressed with as lead vocalist Matt Davies explained: “The award is the most metal thing you’ve ever seen. It’s a skull head with a rather sexy looking cloak, a snake on the bottom and the metal sign in a bony hand. It’s going to go on somebody’s mantelpiece, but not our own! He’s a very metal looking statue and he’s very metal – that’s all you need to know.”
