Fruscainte Says ‘By The Way’ Didn’t Try To Recreate Magic
MuchMusic spoke with John Fruscainte of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their new album ‘By The Way’, which many say shows a more complex songwriting and John’s growth. “I think before we made this album I always had one eye on the old Chili Peppers demo they made in 1983,” said John Fruscainte. “Like this is the band I am in and we have to recreate this magic. And we did with ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magic’ and I used it for inspiration for ‘Californication’, but for this record I made no attempt to do that.”
