Franz Ferdinand’s Thomson Bounces Check

Andy Steel, who runs Frocks in Hackney, East London, tells The Mirror Franz Ferdinand drummer Paul Thomson and long-term lover Esther Congreave held their wedding at the restaurant five months ago and paid for part of the affair with a bounced check. “They settled most of the bill on the night but £200 of it was paid by check,” Steel explained. “Then the check was returned by the bank with a letter saying it couldn’t be cashed. I’ve been trying to sort it out with Paul ever since but he’s always away or busy. Now he’s won the Mercury I thought I’d remind him again!”
