Franz Ferdinand, known for its dance-floor anthems and party-scene heritage, has taken a more serious turn with the new album. “We can’t always be happy clappy … there are much more down songs that are not really danceable. And there’s definitely a bit of music to cry to as well,” guitarist Nick McCarthy tells the Toronto Sun. “You can’t be up there all the time. You’ve got to come down so you can go up again.
