Flu Can’t Stop Navarro From Attending Drug Recovery Center Launch
The New York Daily News reports former heroin addict Dave Navarro didn’t let the flu keep him away from the opening of a new recovery center for young drug-users in L.A. last week. The Jane’s Addiction/Camp Freddy guitarist explained, “Us junkies, we hate to be sick ’cause it reminds us of coming down.” But Navarro was determined to support Sama Eyewear founder Sheila Vance at the launch of Sam’s House, named after her son, who died at 19 of a heroin overdose. “I know how dark [addiction] can be,” said Navarro.
