Flaming Lips Say They Were 10th On Beck’s List

Matt Galloway of Now Toronto spoke with Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne on the band hooking up with Beck to open for the hiphop/funk artist. “The joke is that Beck called Radiohead and they said, ‘Go to hell,’ and then he called Grandaddy and they said, ‘No fu**ing way,’” laughs Coyne. “We were 10th on the list. Seriously, though, I think he truly does love us, and I think he wanted to do something radical. I think he thought, “Well, fu** it.
