Deftones singer Chino Moreno and keyboard/samplist Frank Delgado discussed the band’s self-titled fourth album with ChartAttack.com, where they couldn’t help but mention how feelings were an integral part of its production. “I didn’t really feel much of anything this time around… or so I thought,” Moreno said about the album. “The mood I’ve been in for the past year and a half, I can see it now that I listen back to the songs. I can tell I was in a dark, drab kind of mood and when I hear these songs, it takes me right back to those moments. The record sounds really sad and I think it has a lot to do with writing in Seattle during the winter months. It felt really lonely and shi**y up there. It’s cold, and Frank and I were the only ones there. When I listen back, I remember being right there.”
