LA Weekly spoke with Duff McKagan about his new band Loaded, and of course his old band Guns N’ Roses. Duff talked about his inebriated with the biggest band of the late 80’s saying, “It was amazing. We were just some guys who came from humble backgrounds, and, sh**, at one time we were the biggest band in the world. And despite everything, we never compromised. We never had the label come into the studio while we were recording and tell us what to do.” As for frontman Axl Rose, he says he hasn’t been in contact with him since the group split, but doesn’t hold any hard feelings. “Poor guy, he’s on his own,” he said. “He shut himself off, but that’s cool. I guess he’s gotta do what he’s gotta do.”
