Warner Bros. decided that, just after Sub Pop released Make Up, that it would call up Hot Hot Heat to the majors. The band jumped at the chance, re-releasing the disc last spring. The only problem: Releasing an album twice means living with it for twice as long. “We’d been working the album for months when, all the sudden with had all this widespread exposure,” bassist Paul Hawley tells Las Vegas City Life. “We had to go out and do all this recognition — that’s what they call, so we call it that now too — where we had to do all the interviews and all the tours over again. All I want to do is see a nice movie. Sometimes you just have to not rock for a night.” The full story at lasvegascitylife.com has since been removed.
