Sean Richardson of the Boston Phoenix reviewed Marilyn Manson’s latest and currently chart topping effort ‘The Golden Age of Grotesque’. Richardson writes, “Profanity aside, ‘Grotesque’ is about as strong a plea for airplay as Manson has in him. It sounds a lot like the Manson rock fans remember from his mid-’90s heyday, with sharper hooks and arrangements, and there’s no concept weighing it down. Still, the disc gets pretty self-indulgent in the middle, and the band’s brand of trashy electro-metal is not exactly all the rage at rock radio these days. Long-time fans won’t be disappointed, but don’t count on this album to catalyze a full-scale Manson comeback.” The full review at BostonPhoenix.com has since been removed.
