Doherty Drug Arrest Nixes Austria Radio Gig

Bosses at Austria’s FM4 were fuming on Saturday after Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty failed to turn up for a gig following yet another arrest on suspicion of possessing drugs. “Pete’s bandmates, Drew McConnell and Adam Ficek, flew to Graz without Pete on Saturday afternoon because they thought he’d be released in time to join them for the gig,” a source said. “The promoters organized the jet for 6pm. It was held for five hours… until it became clear Pete wasn’t going to make it.” The private jet and refunded tickets cost the station over $200,000, while Doherty missed out on a $90 payday.
